About Cleta

Precision matters deeply to me, though not at the cost of someone switching off during our time together. The people I work best with are those willing to be wrong out loud while we navigate rhythm, timing, and hand independence. My 2 years of experience have taught me that complex concepts like sight transposition, chord voicing, and advanced ear training eventually start to feel like second nature.

It becomes obvious. Working through scales, arpeggios, and music theory requires a certain patience. I find that my focus on pedaling technique and accompaniment skills helps students bridge the gap between amateur play and real musicianship. I prefer to guide you through the long way until the shortcut makes sense.

Does music feel like a puzzle that refuses to click into place? My approach centers on a diagnostic playing assessment before we set a learning plan to ensure we target your roadblocks.

Having earned a Master of Music in Piano from the USC Thornton School of Music in 2015, I bring 9.0 levels of rigor to our study of bel canto phrasing and rubato. You deserve a clear path forward.

We will examine the mechanics of your sound to determine where tension hides. By breaking down the specific bel canto nuances that separate a student performance from a real one, we build a foundation that supports your growth. This process allows us to address technical flaws before they become permanent habits. Please reach out if you would like to begin.
