About Omkar

Namaste! I'm Omkar, a passionate learner and practitioner of Hindustani Classical Music from India. I am currently learning under the guidance of Dr. Radhika Joshi.

I'm fascinated by the depth, beauty, and expressive nature of Indian Classical Music, and I enjoy sharing this rich musical tradition with others. I aim to make learning music accessible and enjoyable, especially for beginners who are curious about exploring it for the first time.

Whether you're interested in learning swaras, understanding ragas, developing your voice, or simply discovering Indian Classical Music, I'd love to be a part of your musical journey!

Let's explore the world of Indian music together!

About the lesson

My classes are designed for beginners who want to explore Indian Classical Music, regardless of their prior musical experience.

I focus on building a strong foundation in swaras (notes), rhythm, basic ragas, and simple compositions. Classes typically involve vocal warm-ups, practising swaras, learning rhythmic patterns, and gradually exploring ragas through guided exercises and compositions.

My teaching approach is patient, interactive, and adapted to each student's pace and interests. I also introduce students to the cultural and theoretical aspects of Indian Classical Music, helping them understand not just how to sing, but also the ideas behind the music.

My classes are ideal for beginners, music enthusiasts, and anyone curious about exploring Indian Classical Music in a relaxed and encouraging environment. No prior experience is necessary!
