About Melani

Hi, I’m Melani! A multilingual journalist, content creator, and language lover. I studied and lived in Turkey for eight years, completed both my BA and MA there, and earned a C1 Turkish diploma. Turkish is the language I built my everyday life in, and today it’s the one I enjoy teaching the most.

I learned Turkish as a foreigner and reached native fluency, which means I understand the real struggles of learning it. I know where things get confusing and how to explain them in a way that finally clicks. My lessons are structured, warm, and pressure-free – you’re encouraged to speak, experiment, and make mistakes without fear.

I work with all levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I use certified, level-based materials (A1 to C1) that I personally learned with, and every student gets access to them for practice between lessons. The book gives us direction, but we don’t stay trapped in it – we turn rules into real language.

Each lesson flows naturally through grammar, speaking, and everyday expressions, adapted to your level and even your mood! We focus on what sounds doğru and what sounds doğal – the difference between textbook Turkish and the way people actually speak.

Beyond teaching, I’m passionate about films, storytelling, travel, and hiking. I’m friendly, talkative, and driven, and I bring that energy into every class. My goal is simple: to help you feel comfortable, confident, and natural in Turkish, not just correct.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around one simple idea: you learn a language best when you feel safe enough to use it. No fear, no embarrassment, no pressure to be perfect. Mistakes are part of the process – and often the funniest, most memorable part.

I work with beginners, intermediate and advanced learners. Whether you’ve just learned your first 'merhaba', you’re somewhere between “I understand” and “I can speak,” or you want to polish your Turkish for daily life, work, or more formal contexts – we shape the lessons around you.

I follow certified, level-based materials (A1/A2, B1, B2/C1) that I personally learned with, so every student has a clear structure and sense of progress. Every learner gets access to these materials, so you can keep working in writing, revising, and practicing between lessons. At the same time, I don’t teach by the book. The material is our guide, not our cage. We use it as a base, then open it up to real language.

Each class flows naturally. We move through grammar, speaking, listening, and everyday expressions in a way that feels effortless, adapting to your level and even your mood that day!

One moment we might be untangling a structure, the next we’re using it in a real sentence, a small dialogue, or a phrase you’d actually hear on the street. We explore the difference between what sounds doğru and what sounds doğal – between textbook Turkish and the way people really speak.

You’ll learn why aşk olsun can mean affection, irony, or playful reproach, how tone changes meaning, and how culture, humor, films, and music live inside the language. Turkish stops being a set of rules and becomes something alive.

What sets me apart is that I learned Turkish as a foreigner and reached native fluency. I know exactly where learners get stuck, what feels confusing, and how to explain it in a way that finally clicks. I speak several languages fluently, so I can adapt my explanations to your way of thinking.

My goal is simple: to help you feel comfortable, confident, and natural in Turkish – not just correct. Step by step, Turkish becomes something you use, enjoy, and slowly make your own.
