About Cassidy

I am a teacher who believes yoga is for EVERYONE.

My background is diverse, as I have training in:

Hatha, restorative and Vinyasa yoga

meditation and mindfulness

breathing practices, pranayama

ayurveda

yogic philosophy

dance and stage movement

music therapy

I am an adaptable guide, willing and able to work with a wide range of interests, ages, and populations.

My instructions encourage gentleness, softness, and emphasise listening to your own body.

I have worked extensively with children through asana and meditation.

I came to yoga nearly ten years ago broken and full of self-hate, hoping not for much at all besides a little exercise.

I found through regular practice an oasis from a life I truly disliked: a systematic guide towards happiness, a psychology richer and deeper than I could have imagined, and a philosophy that comforted my many inner-dissonances.

This is not about me, though. This is about the potential yoga has for transforming, for bringing one closer to truth, for finding union between even the most seemingly vast distances.

This is the practice I wish to share; It belongs to no one and it all depends on you.

My teaching profession began organically! Friends and family members noticed my passion for the practice and asked me to share with them. I continued practicing for several years, and then decided to dive in and get certified. The cycle continues, as I gather knowledge to share with others. I now teach to children, in studios, private sessions, and in private groups. 



I am 200HR YTT certified and will soon be 500HR YTT certified. I have trainings in restorative, Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, yin, and various styles of meditation.

I like to meet new students one-on-one off the mat to discuss interests, goals, and any potential concerns. This way, I am best equipped to structure lessons around what is relevent towards the student. I am very selfless in how I work with people. My "style" of teaching truly does not matter to me; especially since I am trained in several styles ranging from restorative to Ashtanga. If it would not serve you, it is irrelevent and so I adjust accordingly. This is why this initial step is so important to me, so I can gather a sense of what will or will not work for you. 

After that first meeting, we dive onto the mat or meditation cushion as soon as possible and start exploring the body and mind! 



I have worked with students with a wide range of physical and nonphysical ailments.

I am familiar working with students:

who have mild-severe scoliosis

joint injury or pain

who have chronic migraines 

are diagnosed with fibromyalgia 

carry with them anxiety or depression

have ADHD 

range in age from five to eighty-five

who are simply intimidated by the practice of yoga



Remember: it all depends on you.

Yoga is not about the teacher, it is about what you need at this time. Find a teacher who is humble enough to accomidate and get out of the way, who you feel has compassion for humanity, and who truly wants to see you well. Not so they can have another good review, but so you can truly be well.

Details

Yoga is not a practice for greed or gaining immense wealth. I try to keep my prices reasonabe because I understand that for many this is a discouraging barrier.  

Per hour I charge $60. 

I offer sessions ranging from sixty to ninety minutes.
